CenturyLink is set to address the increased demand for a simplified approach to cloud computing with the upcoming launch of savvisdirect, which is currently in public beta test. Savvisdirect will also expand CenturyLink's portfolio of Savvis cloud services to businesses of all sizes.
CenturyLink claims its upcoming savvisdirect will offer highly scalable, affordable and easy-to-use cloud services for business users, IT administrators and developers.
“By offering a unique, frictionless approach to cloud, our goal is to make cloud adoption – from learning to purchasing to onboarding – simple and affordable. This is a cloud every business can use,” said Andrew Higginbotham, president of Savvisdirect, in statement.
Savvisdirect's intuitive Web portal enables immediate access to on-demand virtual servers; a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) marketplace; click-to-buy storage services; scalable application development platforms; and services configuration and management.
"With our broad range of cloud solutions expanding to include savvisdirect, CenturyLink will give our customers the flexibility to choose the service that is right for them," added Higginbotham.
CenturyLink is the third largest telecommunications company in the United States and is recognized as a specialist in the network services market by technology industry analyst firms.
The company notes that its Savvisdirect service is ideal for all business users and allows them to quickly get started with a credit card and access the savvisdirect intuitive interface for simplified control of their cloud services.
The cloud solutions from CenturyLink are scheduled to be available throughout North America towards the end of 2012 and in Europe and Asia next year.
