IBM (News - Alert) is helping its clients benefit from cloud opportunities through a new set of global initiatives. An expanded cloud ecosystem from IBM will enable organizations to develop solutions and services on IBM SmartCloud and PureSystems, built on open standards.
This effort is aimed at further expanding IBM's cloud ecosystem, enabling organizations to develop solutions and services on IBM SmartCloud and PureSystems, built on open standards.
The growth of cloud computing will increase the demand of local technology providers known as Managed Service Providers (MSP) as they help clients to develop cloud-based services in an economical manner. Thanks to MSPs, clients will benefit from cloud technologies without spending time on gaining relevant IT skills.
IBM is enabling MSPs to further build innovative solutions and services on IBM's advanced technologies including SmartCloud, PureSystems, and analytics. MSPs will also be able to access IBM experts with deep technical skills at four new global centers of excellence.
Additionally, IBM will support MSP marketing efforts and offer affordable financing options through IBM Global Financing to help MSPs acquire new technologies.
“Because clients today have changed the way they purchase IT, a MSP or cloud provider must demonstrate a level of trust before the managed services relationship starts,” said Charles Weaver (News - Alert), CEO of MSP Alliance. “How they market themselves often will be the difference between success and failure. This new set of initiatives IBM is launching today reinforces the company's commitment to ensure this community has the right marketing support and technologies to effectively succeed in this segment.”
IBM was recently in news for releasing IBM Emptoris Strategic Supply Management solutions that enable companies to maximize financial performance and optimize commercial risk.
